Yes, I believe they are. First of all, I think the date is just someone's guess.
I looked at the family groups to see which ones would fit the boy, girl, boy, boy, girl/boy (I wasn't certain about that baby in the dress, but it could be either in that era).
I came upon the family of David Cheney. Actually I checked there first because the boy on the far left looks sooooo much like my grandfather Clarence. But, it didn't fit . . . where would Pierce be? And, then I remembered reading Pierce's bio and that he served a mission to Belgium. I checked the date and it was in 1900. So, looking at the dates of the children's births. That would leave out Rulon because he was born in 1901. I then carefully compared the photos I already have with the noses and mouths and eyes and such of the other children of the photo in question. I think the resemblances are uncanny.
It also makes sense that your father (and your family line) would have the photo . . . if he took it with him on his mission or if they sent it to him . . . it was his.
